Bill Morrison is a life long resident of Memphis who believes that, together, we can make Memphis a better place to live. Bill is uniquely qualified to help Memphis move forward. He has proven experience and leadership skills in the business world and as an award winning schoolteacher.
He will use his excellent communication skills and broad background in the business community, school system, and army reserves to tackle the difficult tasks facing Memphis.
Bill is an honor graduate of the University of Memphis, earning a Bachelor degree in Integrative Studies, and served as the President of the Student Tennessee Education Association (STEA). He received the Outstanding Educator award his senior year as a student teacher. He is currently working on a Masters degree in Educational Administration and Supervision at the University of Memphis College of Leadership.
Bill has a diverse record of leadership in business, the armed forces, sports and the community. He served as the former Executive Director of Wheelchair Sports and played for the River City Rollers. While in the U.S. Army Reserves, Bill was a Distinguished Honor Graduate from the Academy of Health at Fort Sam Houston, Texas.
As the Human Resource Manager of Rural Metro Ambulance, he was a strategic partner with the leadership of the organization and helped drive the company forward. This experience will serve him well as your City Councilor. He is highly motivated to bring new, quality organizations to your (district or city) that will pay high wages and move our economy forward.
Bill’s real passion is with our children, for they are our future! He is committed to work tirelessly building a better school system. He became a middle school teacher at Southwind Middle School in 2005. He approaches teaching his 8th graders with a resolve that is refreshing. He involves the parents and students in a team atmosphere that promotes a sense of responsibility and self-worth. His experience as a football coach helps promote a team approach in everything he does.
Bill is highly motivated to try bold new ideas that will make Memphis better. He is dedicated to serving District 1 in an effort to make Memphis a safer community for all Memphians. Bill is a leader who knows how to bring out the best in people and believes that we can all work together to Make Memphis Great.
Bill’s greatest pride is his 9 year old daughter and his entire family who stand with him in his desire to Make Memphis Great.
